My Philosophy About Highly Sensitive People

  1. You aren’t weak because you feel so deeply. HSPs who aren’t afraid to show their sensitivity are stronger than most. Our society needs more HSPs like you to lean into your sensitive nature and pursue your purpose so others can benefit from your talents, gifts, and, most importantly, your example.

  2. When you allow yourself to be who you are wholeheartedly, especially at work, you attract the right people, career opportunities, and experiences far more than when you try to hide your sensitivity.

  3. You can build resilience, set clear boundaries, and build a happy, healthy work life. Sometimes you need the right support and intellectual feedback to do it in a way that helps you create meaningful change in a way that aligns with your values.

I’m Kim creator of this space and a Career Coach for HSPs

I’ve worked for some incredible companies in the publishing industry for decades, and I’m extremely proud of my career — but I’ve always struggled with high sensitivity in the workplace.

I was a book-production manager for Time Inc., wrote career and hiring advice articles for Monster.com, and copyedited for W.W. Norton, among other roles. Even though manager after manager had praised me for being an A-player and high-achiever, I somehow always ended up feeling burned out and empty.

This struggle made me question why I couldn’t I be resilient like the rest of the professionals I worked alongside. I knew that I didn’t fit into the corporate work culture, and this made me constantly question my ability and worth.

I wanted to make a difference in the world, but I felt so stuck, and I no longer believed I had what it took to “make it happen.”

I truly felt worthless and lost.

Why Career Coaching?

I know how painful it can be to want to make your mark on the world but feel inadequate and confused about which steps could lead in a better direction.

I also know what it’s like to feel confident, worthy, and able to create a gentle, nurturing career that honors your needs and sensitivity in the workplace. To understand yourself so fully — inside and out — so what others think and say no longer affects how you’re able to show up as a professional. I can’t tell you what a relief it is to finally be surrounded by a nurturing work environment that fits my needs for a gentler work experience…and to know that I’m truly making a difference in people’s lives.

I know how painful it can be to struggle with your sensitivity in the workplace, especially in this “hustle” culture we’ve all come to accept. But this struggle is also why I’m so proud to help HSPs thrive at work in a gentle, sustainable way.

You DO NOT have to spend every waking moment of your life hating your job.

You can build a gentle and nurtuting career that meets your needs as an HSP. Work with me to build that career you’ve always dreamed of…the one that honors your heightened nervous system and fills you with lots of purpose, meaning, and joy.

  • I live with my husband and daughter in a stone house that was built in 1710.

  • Our other family members include a mini goldendoodle (Moose), an adorable Pekingnese (Charlotte), three cats (Luna, Westley, and Buttercup), and a ball python (Tom, aka “Noodle”).

  • Our property is nestled alongside a beautiful river and nature preserve in New Jersey where we often hike, kayak, and fish.

  • In my downtime, I love to read, garden, and create cozy spaces.
